Testosterone Injections: Average Prices in USA

Written by Author - Authors Medical experts of the National HRT Clinic - April 13, 2016

Testosterone Injections

Many men with Low T, who are greatly in need of treatment with testosterone therapy, are frightened away by what they perceive to be expensive cost options. That does not have to be the case. In some instances, their research yielded above normal average prices for testosterone injections in the USA. They may have come across local clinics that add in the cost of office visits and follow-up care to their prices.

All too often we are faced with horror stories from men who tried to save money by turning to the internet to make purchases of testosterone injections at what they thought to be affordable prices. The stories below are indicative of what could happen when bypassing a hormone replacement specialist and purchasing medications oneself online.

Here are some of the issues that can arise when people do not get all the facts about legitimate testosterone injections prices:

  • The purchasing of testosterone injections online is illegal without a valid prescription. This can result in seizure and confiscation of the product during shipment, as well as possible legal prosecution of the individual making the purchase.
  • Testosterone injections are one of the world’s most counterfeited drugs. Men who think that they are receiving real testosterone could, in fact, be in possession of an item that has been tampered with, diluted, manufactured with inferior ingredients or even dangerous ones, substituted for an entirely different medication, or are expired.
  • Other medications are often prescribed with testosterone to prevent the body from halting its own natural production, along with stopping the estrogen conversion process that takes place naturally. Without a doctor’s authorization, an individual would not know what to take, or even how much to administer or use of any medication.

These are just some of the reasons why doing proper homework and research to uncover the best price of testosterone injections is important. There are ways of treating Low T that will not break the bank or empty the wallet.

Does Frequency of Treatment Affect Testosterone Injections Prices?

The frequency of treatment, along with the dosage of testosterone that is prescribed are two of the factors that can affect testosterone injections prices. In addition, the type of testosterone injections will also play a role in this process. Testosterone cypionate, enanthate, and propionate (rarely prescribed) all have different dosing frequencies as well as price points.

The majority of men will be prescribed testosterone cypionate injections. There is more than one brand of this hormone therapy, and the most expensive when determining testosterone injections price is Depo-Testosterone. The average cost of this treatment can be around $49 a week, depending on dosage and frequency of treatment. This can be made even lower by opting for Watson testosterone cypionate, or by having it compounded in a licensed US pharmacy. That is the most affordable method of buying this medication.

As you can see, that is a far cry from the often quoted $300 to $400 a month that some other clinics charge. Part of the reason other prices are so high is that frequent office visits are required. That is not the case with National HRT. Since we are a national hormone replacement therapy center, we offer our clients the convenience and cost savings feature of telephone consultations.

Determination of Testosterone Injection Prices

Although we do not routinely see people in our hormone replacement clinic’s offices, we do still have the same strict requirements for testing and diagnosis as local clinics. Each person will undergo blood analysis at a local lab to determine the level of testosterone deficiency. This is the first factor that is needed to determine how much testosterone to prescribe before assessing the overall price of testosterone injections.

Physical examination is another requirement due to the need to gather some personal information that will be used in determining treatment, not to mention ensuring that the individual is a candidate for testosterone therapy. Each person will also complete a health assessment questionnaire in order to provide past and present medical information to the prescribing specialist.

Finally, the HRT doctor will look at the severity of the symptoms that each person has when determining both treatment options and testosterone injections prices. All of these factors go into providing the best possible treatment at the most affordable costs – without sacrificing customer service, results, or satisfaction.
